Choose your chat language
The language of the interface and the language a character uses in chat are related but separate choices. Start by checking the language menu in your current version of Candy AI.
Change the interface from the language menu
Open the flag or language control near the bottom of the navigation. Select from the options offered there. An available menu translation is not a guarantee that every character will always reply in that language.
English and French are documented interface localizations. Other language-specific help instructions address conversation behavior, so use the current menu and the particular chat controls rather than treating an old localization list as permanent.
Establish a language at the start of a chat
- Keep anything you need from the existing conversation before resetting it.
- Choose the language option offered by your current interface.
- Start a new conversation with the character instead of expecting every older thread to change automatically.
- Write the opening message in the language you want the character to use.
- For a custom character, keep its greeting consistent with the language you intend to use.
When a character switches languages
Give a short correction in the language you want and avoid switching between several languages in the next message. If you are creating a character, a greeting and background written consistently can make your intended style clearer.
For languages without a documented full localization, a request in chat can produce variable results. Test a short exchange before depending on it for a long story or a task that requires accurate translation.

Can I use Candy AI in French?
French is a documented interface localization. Select the available language option and begin a new conversation if an older chat keeps using its original language.
Can I ask a Candy AI character to reply in Japanese?
Yes, you can establish Japanese in your opening message and a custom character's greeting. Do not assume that this makes every part of the interface a fully localized Japanese product.
Does Candy AI support Chinese conversations?
You can ask a character to respond in Chinese, but a chat-language request is not a guarantee of full localization or consistently accurate replies. Test the exchange and clarify the intended language when needed.
Will changing the site language translate my existing chat?
Do not assume so. Existing conversations can retain their original language. Starting a new chat establishes a clearer language context, but resetting also affects that conversation's history.
