Build a character with a clear personality
Start with the person you want to talk to, not a page of instructions. Choose an adult fictional identity, a few distinctive traits and a relationship that gives the conversation a starting point.

Make the basic choices work together
- Choose the available character style and appearance options.
- Set an adult age, name and occupation that fit the character.
- Pick a personality and relationship without conflicting instructions.
- Review the available voice and profile details before confirming.
A profile example
Mara is a 29-year-old architect who notices small details, enjoys dry humor and asks thoughtful questions. She has just moved into the same apartment building as your character. Their first conversation starts over a misdelivered package.
The age, occupation and setting support the same character. In the first message, add what your character says or does. There is no need to repeat the entire profile in every reply.
Custom instructions and character versions
Use custom details to resolve something specific, such as how formal the character sounds or what they already know about the scene. Avoid promising that any prompt can override content rules.
Check the version shown in the creator. An eligible V1-to-V2 conversion cannot be reversed, and creating a new V1 profile is no longer an option. Review an existing character before converting it.
Questions and answers
What makes a useful Candy AI character description?
A clear adult identity, two or three compatible personality traits and a concrete relationship are useful starting points. Put the immediate scene in the conversation instead of filling the profile with unrelated events.
Can a custom character use any real person's likeness?
No. A custom profile is not permission to imitate someone without authorization. Choose a fictional character or use a likeness only where you have the necessary rights and consent.
